Bobcat Final Drives
Bobcat, a member of the Doosan Group has been an extremely popular brand of compact equipment ever since they invented their first compact loader - more than 60 years ago when brothers and blacksmiths Louis and Cyril Keller of Rothsay, Minnesota were approached by a local farmer. He was looking for a machine to quickly clear manure from the second floor of his barn and new they were accustomed to building small machinery. The Keller’s built the first three-wheeled compact loader and before long other farmers wanted one. In 1958, they partnered with Melroe Manufacturing Company, a North Dakota fabricating company, and began to mass produce machines. The compact equipment industry was born.
In the late 1990s, Bobcat launched the first compact excavator and quickly became one of the industry leader. In 2002, they introduced utility vehicles. In 2019, they reintroduced compact tractors in 2019 and just a year later, they had a full lineup of zero turn mowers. In that same year, they also made an entrance into the large excavator market.
Today they manufacture excavators, skid steers, utility vehicles, compact tractors, telehandlers, and a variety of implements and attachments and are used in many different industries, including construction, landscaping, demolition, ranching, and agriculture.
